Christopher J. Malafis, a New York, Long Island native, relocated to South Florida in 2006.
Mr. Malafis is a graduate of Chaminade High School, a prestigious all-boys Catholic High School on Long Island, in New York. The moral and academic education Mr. Malafis received during these years would provide the foundation upon which his adult life is built.
Mr. Malafis began his career in the private sector in New York and worked in a variety of fields including hospitality, accounting, insurance, and financial planning. Mr. Malafis later received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Florida, after dual-majoring in History and Political Science.
Mr. Malafis graduated, cum laude, from The University of Miami School of Law and earned a specialization certificate in Litigation. Mr. Malafis also served as a Dean’s Fellow for Criminal Procedure, and as the President of the University of Miami Student-Animal Legal Defense Fund.
In his legal career, Mr. Malafis clerked for a number of Miami-based law firms for 4 years, gaining valuable experience in the areas of Personal Injury, Business Litigation and Family Law. As an attorney, Mr. Malafis has been employed on matters involving a variety of case types including landlord-tenant disputes, medical malpractice claims, personal injury and tort claims, family law, and commercial business litigation. Mr. Malafis has also been retained in a General Counsel role by numerous business entities. With Capitol Legal, Mr. Malafis has also been responsible for developing the Firm’s wide network of industry contacts and medical experts, in addition to his role as the Firm’s litigator.
In his personal life, Mr. Malafis is an avid musician, enjoys reading, spending time with his family, and exploring the natural beauty Florida has to offer.
